CHEMICAL CONTROL MEASURES:

The nature and extent of the required treatment is determined by a thorough inspection of the borer infested woodwork, keeping certain aspects of their life history and habits in mind and the severity or extent of damage caused.

A suitable licensed oil based residual insecticide is injected into the shot holes made by the insects in the woodwork supplemented with a thorough application of the insecticide to all the exposed surfaces of the infested wood.

FREQUENCY: Once a month treatment in the first four consecutive months and two checkup visits at an interval of 4 month each in the balance 8 months of the annual contract period.

Suggestions to clients on Preventive Measures to be taken:

1. It is advisable to treat all the surfaces of raw wood, plywood thoroughly with a suitable oil based residual spray before carrying out the finishing work of the furniture.
2. Get the infested wood treated as soon as the infestation is noticed to prevent further damage.
