PEST COVERED :

CHEMICAL CONTROL MEASURES

  1. External Premises: A band of 2 feet on the wall & floor from its junction on the external periphery of the structure will be sprayed using a suitable residual chemical. Door, window frames will also be sprayed from outside.
  2. Garbage, Drains, Waste disposal areas, areas susceptible to fly infestation in the compound area will be sprayed.
  3. Fly bait will be used to control flies outside and inside the premises.
  4. Internal Premises: No pesticide, space sprays; residual sprays will be used on or near the product inside the production / packing / storage areas in case of critical industries. The common areas, wall & floor junctions, areas having decaying matter stored within the premises, areas favoring fly breeding will be sprayed.
  5. Fly ribbons will be installed in critical industries to control the fly infestation.

Fly catching / killing machines should be installed inside the premises depending upon requirement and the location of installation. Care needs to be taken while installing these devices. Not to be installed on top of any production / packing machinery, but away from it and near the possibly entry points. Air curtains should be installed by the client on the entry doors from the compound to the facility and also the doors leading to sensitive areas such as raw material storage, finished goods, production.

Frequency: The frequency will vary from one premise to the other; mainly depending on the nature of premises to be treated, level of infestation, hygienic conditions, housekeeping practices and so on.

Suggestions to clients on Preventive Measures to be taken:

  1. Remove garbage regularly, especially the wet garbage which decays fast. Make sure that garbage cans or dumpsters have tight fitting lids. Keep garbage cans as far away from doors as possible.
  2. Do not let floor drains stand in water. Commercial Kitchens should make sure that floor drains are screened and free from waste / reject food. Keep exposed food covered
  3. Keep doors and windows closed or screened.
  4. Clear up animal excrement and droppings. Remove dead animals or birds that have died in the attic or walls.
  5. Do not over water houseplants.
  6. Do not let food buildup under tables and in hard to reach areas.
  7. Use Air Curtains on critical control points, entry/exits to keep flies out.
